When
you want to track the click-through rates and sales results
from ads you place online; links on your site to the order
form; or links inside eMails and eZines to special product
offers, use our built-in "Ad Tracker" system!
Mouse
over Ad Trackers inside
your account and a drop down menu of options will appear.
Within this drop down menu, you can create, edit and check
the statistics for any number of ad trackers you wish to
create for any reason!
As
any expert marketer would tell you, the most important marketing
"activity" you can do online is "test your
ads/copy/sales letters" to see how well they sell for
you! Use what works, after you've tracked what works!
Check
out these topics and their video tutorials to help you better
understand the Ad Trackers
drop down menu of options!
An
Ad Tracker is a marketing tool that tracks
clicks through a specific link. This could be a link on
your web site to the order form, a link in an online ad
to your web site, a link from within your eZine to a product
description page on your web site, or any other link for
which you would like to track statistics.
What’s
great about Ad Trackers is that they’re invisible
to those who click on them. So, you can gather a lot of
information about people’s online click-through
behavior without them being aware of it.
As
the experts would say, “Tracking is everything!”
So, we came up with a full-proof system for you to track
all kinds of click-through stats and information from
your web site, within eZines, online ads, order form pages,
and more!
If
you don't track your marketing efforts, how will you know
if you're making money or worse, losing money? You won't,
unless you track (all) your marketing efforts with our
"ad tracking" system!
From
a marketing standpoint, it is vital that you track your
marketing efforts online whenever possible so you can
confidently determine if a particular advertising campaign
(e.g., advertisement via the web, eMail broadcast, eZine
advertisement, forum or blog posting, etc.) was successful
or not.
When
someone clicks on a specific Ad Tracker link, our system
tracks that "click-through" to your web site,
order form, free report, etc., and accumulates the total
number of click-through's per ad tracker you create.
Now,
in addition to tracking click-through's, our shopping
cart system goes much further and tracks a number of other
vital marketing statistics you need to know about when
running any online advertising campaign.
There
are a number of strategic ways to use "ad trackers"
(or ad tracking links) when marketing your business online
and through eMail. For example, you might like to track
the number of click-through's to your web site from:
1. Tracking "Click-Through's" To Your Web Site
...
Track an ad FROM
A WEB SITE that links to
your web site ...
Maybe
you paid for a banner ad on someone's web site and you'd
like to track how many click-through's actually occur
during a set period of time. You can do that by creating
an ad tracker. If you aren't getting any click-through's
from that web site / ad campaign, you can confidently
cancel that advertisement and not renew it for another
term. On the other hand, if the banner ad is working and
the ad tracker proves it, then, by all means ... keep
that advertising campaign going!
Track an ad WITHIN
AN EMAIL/EZINE that
links to your web site ...
Just
as you might like to track the click-through's from an
advertisement placed on someone's web site, you might
also like to do the same if that ad was placed within
an eMail or eZine going out to a huge list of people.
How else will you know if people (a) saw your ad or (b)
clicked on the link to see your web site or special offer?
You wouldn't unless you used one of our special ad-tracking
links.
Track PURCHASE
LINKS
from web pages on your site to the Order Form page ...
You
might like to see if people are actually clicking on the
buy buttons or buy links to go to your order form. If
there is a lot of activity where people "are"
clicking on your buy links, and no one is buying, then
you might have to do something about your order page (i.e.,
add more testimonials, restate more benefits, etc.) to
increase the chances of someone buying.
2.
Coupons and Discounts ...
Our system allows you to create an unlimited number of
special discounts and coupons you can offer select customers
or your entire database.
With
our system, all you have to do is set the start/end date
for the discount you want and a percentage discount or
dollar value (i.e., how much do you want to offer off)
... and that's it! A special "ad tracking" link
will be created for you to use in your next ad campaign.
3.
Split-tracking ...
You can use what they call "split-tracking"
which allows you to track a number of different web site
landing pages all from one advertisement.
Let's
say you wanted to test the sales copy, headlines and offers
of three different ads that you wrote on three separate
web pages. To do this, simply create an ad-tracking link
that points to 3 separate URLS.
The
purpose of testing each of these three separate sites
with different layouts and offers is to see what web site
pulls in the most sales. Whichever site pulls in the most
sales, you know, you did something right on that page
and that you should send most, if not all of your traffic
to the web page that sells the most.
Split-testing
or split-tracking,
is a method of scientifically tracking the results from
several different web pages to see which sales page is
converting more leads or customers. Whichever web page
(and copy, headline, offer, etc.) sells the most for you,
you know which web page to promote exclusively.
A
split-tester is essentially
"one link" or "one URL" that redirects
traffic to more than one (up to 3) different web sites.
If
you're serious about improving your sites conversion rate,
this type of testing is essential and our system can help
you test up to three different web pages. If you add multiple
destinations (two or three URL’s), our system will
automatically alternate the destination at which your
clients arrive when clicking your Ad Tracker link.
In other words, the first person to click the Ad Tracker
link will be taken to link destination 1; the second person
will end up on link destination 2; the third person will
end up at link destination 3; the fourth person will end
up at link destination 1; etc.
To
create an Ad Tracker, is really easy with our system:
[STEP
1]
Create
an Ad Tracker with our system. Tell us where you’d
like to point this Ad Tracker, and you’re done
with this part of the process.
[STEP

Place
the Ad Tracking URL we generate for you (that’s
called the Ad Tracker) behind any text or image as
the link where you’d like to track the click
through traffic.
[STEP
3]
From
time to time, preview the Manage Ad Tracker section
within the eCommerce Control Panel to check the stats
and sales information for a specific Ad Tracker.

DELETE YOUR COOKIES AFTER TESTING AD-TRACKING COUPONS
Be
sure to delete your cookies after testing any new ad-tracking
coupons you create. Here's why ... Let's say you create
a 25% off coupon for a select group of people. Well, before
you send that coupon link to them, you should test it
yourself, right? Of course, you should. Just click on
the coupon link itself to be sure it subtracts 25% from
the actual retail price of the product/registration you're
selling / you want the special group to buy from you.
Now,
after you're all done creating and testing that discount
coupon link; let's say, for example, you decided to turn
your attention to creating and/or testing other products
in the shopping cart (not related to the coupon discount
you just sent to that special group) ... Well, in order
to test these new product prices in the shopping cart
order form without the % discount associated with the
last group's coupon link you will need to delete your
cookies from your computer so the shopping cart system
doesn't see the old discount coupon and subtract that
% discount erroneously from your new tests. It's a simple
procedure that should be done every time you sample test
new product and coupon discount links created with our
system.
TRACK AFFILIATES' TRAFFIC TO YOUR WEB SITE WITH AD TRACKING
LINKS
Did
you know you could track the number of click-through's
from any one of your top affiliates' links by creating
an ad-tracking link per affiliate, which points to the
affiliate's URL ... which then, of course, points to your
web site? Yep! Now, you wouldn't want to do this with
every affiliate you have, that's silly. But, perhaps some
of your really top- earning affiliates. You might like
to see how many click-through's per day, week or month
they're sending you.
Even
better, suppose you were promoting a new product and you
asked some of your associates to help you promote it to
their database. How do you know when
and if they actually eMailed their database
your new product promotion? You don't. Unless you have
a way of tracking! Now, you could log into their affiliate
account individually to review their click-through stats;
but that's too time consuming. Instead, there's a simpler
way! = Create an ad-tracking link per affiliate to track
each of their individual marketing efforts! Again, you
don't have to do this with every affiliate, but just some
of your closest, top-earning affiliates.
By
creating ad-tracking links to your affiliates' links,
you can find out (1) when they eMailed their database
because you would see activity through the ad-tracking
link stats page assigned to each individual affiliate
and (2) you would also find out just how many people from
their list clicked on their affiliate link to your product
offer web page.
This
is a really smart marketing tactic because if you don't
see ANY activity from certain affiliates, you know (exactly)
when to call them up to say, "Hey, just checking,
but did you send my new product offer to your eMail list
yet? Hmm, I haven't seen any activity ... I'm tacking
click-through's for me and for you and I don't see even
a SINGLE click-through. You said you had how many on your
list? 30,000 people? Hmmm, and not a single click-through.
I'm baffled. Did you send it out correctly? What? Oh,
you haven't sent it out yet. Ahh, I see ... Well? When
will you be sending it out? ..."
I
think you get the picture now. Just remember, you can't
track what you can't see ... If you can track your affiliates
click-through's you can't track how hard they're working
for you ... or NOT!
